Pros and Cons for investing in a used Mitsubishi Pajero

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

Considered a sports utility vehicle, the used Mitsubishi Pajero for sale has an interesting history. Its name alone has generated controversy in other countries where Spanish is the main language spoken. Translated to English, the Spanish word pajero  has sexual intonations or can mean “liar.” This made the idea of a used Mitsubishi Pajero for sale in Spanish speaking countries extremely touchy. The company did change the name in these countries to Montero which means related to hunting.

This was one of the cons revolving around the Pajero. There are others which may change your mind about investing in this car such as supposedly being good for rough road conditions, but not exactly delivering on this promise.  Also, if you are thinking of getting the earlier models like the 1993, you will find out that engine is not as powerful as the later generations and its airbag for the driver is still the old style, and not located at the side.
Eventually, the company stopped working on improving the Pajero so that after 1998, sales dropped and the value of the car also decreased.
On the positive side, the Mitsubishi Pajero has anti-brake locking, a spacious interior, 4 valves in the cylinder engine for models launched after 1995, and dual airbags and a middle seat in the 1996 version. It has also managed to maintain its air of prestige especially in Asian countries.
In addition, it is fuel efficient with a very smooth ride and easy steering. The interior is comfortable bordering on luxurious. Compared to other sports utility vehicles, the Mitsubishi Pajero outclasses most except for the European brands like the Mercedes Benz van and the Land Rover.
If you are thinking of buying a used Pajero, make sure you check the documents and find out the origin of the van. Japan is a preferable place of origin because you know they would put in original parts. You have to watch out for the Pajeros being sold in other Asian countries where the replacement parts have been butchered and inferior parts were installed instead. This car is also highly attractive to thieves and so you have to check the documents and make sure you are not buying a stolen Pajero. Most certified resellers can be trusted if they have an existing business and client roster.

Saturday, December 24th, 2011

An old saying goes that a Japanese made car often outlives its owner for the make of the car is extremely solid allowing it to be passed on to the next generation if it’s taken care well. Purchasing a Japan made car is indeed a brilliant idea for it retains an excellent image for great quality amongst the many other leading brands in the motor industry. However, if you are buying a used car directly shipped from Japan, it requires caution to establish the condition until the shipment reaches you.

Before the car is imported, choosing a trustworthy auto dealer is important to ensure the condition of the car is indeed worth for its price. If the selected dealer is credible, the shipping would not cause any problem to the car owner; the usually used method through which any Japanese used cars can be shipped from Japan till its desired destination would prove to be safe. The most often used method is through a shipment container on a ship. As the concept indicates, shipping, it refers literally top the car being sent to its destination by water.

A plus point of opting for a shipment container would be the assurance of the car’s safety. As the automobile would be properly secured, it guarantees that the car reaches the location without any damage. But in any case, to avoid any mishaps, it’s wiser to opt for an auto dealer that would provide shipping insurance for your used car. This would not only prove as a safety measure but one to assure the car is indeed in a good condition.

Besides being damage free, shipping would also avoid any types of thefts of the car or its body parts. Containers in a ship are registered and validated for, which would require insurance compensation in any cases of damages or thievery. Although a shipping container would be the best way to transport the car, the cost often overrides the price of the used car itself causing owners to re-consider the option. There are ways to reduce the price of the shipment though it relies in the ability of your selected auto dealer to negotiate the shipment pricing.
